For Older Adults & Individuals with Special Needs

Benevolent Touch is a positive, gentle, nurturing touch provided to ensure someone that they are in a safe, secure and caring environment.
Benevolent Touch Workshop
Caregivers learn how to enhance the quality of life for older adults, especially those with Alzheimer’s disease, other forms of dementia or sensory loss due to aging or special needs. This workshop provides the skills required to give positive tactile contact to those who need it, enhancing their feelings of security and belonging, reducing agitation, pacing, and wandering. Benevolent Touch techniques help achieve the following:
- With your clients: more satisfying bonding, focused interaction, relaxed body language, and more controlled environment.
- With your staff: stress reduction techniques, more relaxed environment and greater bonding through a sense of caring.
- With yourself: self-nurturing skills that reduce burn-out, greater energy and better performance levels.
The course is designed for caregivers (therapists, CNAs, activity aides, chaplains, parish nurses, and social workers). Included is a 50-page manual, BT guidelines, non-verbal cues, range and relaxation exercises and massage techniques. Workshop Cost: $60 per person- Workshop Registration Form.
