Corporate Ministry

St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi.
The Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, a Catholic order of nuns, came from Bavaria to St. Francis (Milwaukee), Wisconsin to carry out charitable and educational works in the community. This first effort has grown to include 11 collaborative ministries, sponsored by these same Sisters. In the Franciscan tradition they serve children as well as adults who are frail with age or challenged with disabilities, providing them with social, educational, vocation and wellness services.

Francis of Assisi was born in 1182 and died in 1226. The story of his conversion is well known. As a young man he abandoned wealth and comfort to embrace a life of poverty in order to devote his life whole-heartedly to the gospel of Christ. His love of all creation was simply an extension of his deep love of the Creator. The poor and outcasts of society were the focus of his love and care. His followers then and now follow in that same tradition.
