A Special Essay written by one of our Volunteers

We welcome assistance from community members who wish to help with special events or activities at St. Ann Center, either at the Weinberg Building or Shepherd House (our facility for adults with Alzheimer's Disease or other forms of dementia). It's a great way to meet people while making a difference in the lives of our clients.

Some specific ways in which you can volunteer are:

  • Assist in the café or store, and with special sales throughout the year.
  • Help with our outside sales / farmers markets.
  • Chaperone a field trip with clients.
  • Help with mailings and other general office work.
  • Provide computer work and data entry.
  • Help with feeding adults and children during meal and snack times.
  • Assist clients in our swimming pool.
  • Read to adults or children.
  • Do handiwork, gardening/yard work, crafts/baking, and sewing.
  • Help with our fund-raising event–serve food, set up, run registration tables, etc.
  • Make phone calls.

Let us know if you have a special gift or talent you can share!
